Spring Cottage is accessed via a tree-lined drive from the Under Loughrigg road. It gives access to the large car parking area with plenty of space to park and turn. Paths lead both into the woodland extending to over 10 acres and round the garden including to the games room above the garage. For the more energetic the games features a full sized Cornilleau Competition Pro 740 ITTF approved table tennis table, accessed via the balcony with outside seating and woodland views. Steps lead down to the lower garden to the rear of the house which is enclosed with lawn, borders and outside seating area and table with a small wall fountain. The lower garden is at the bottom of a series of rock outcrops providing a spectacular backdrop to the garden. You are free to wander in the private woodland which is an ancient semi-natural woodland. There are a number of ancient paths in addition to a 1km track (no vehicle access) leading steeply up to Loughrigg Fell. Please note that the woodland is steep and rocky which, whilst spectacular, makes it unsuitable for unsupervised young children.
